Measure the resistivity of the medium by injecting an electric current between two electrodes at different depths. Electrical methods are the most effective for measuring the interface between fresh and salt water.

Get the vertical resolution you need to detect fine variations in water conductivity and pinpoint the interface between fresh and salt water.

Avoid any measurement errors and guarantee the durability of your monitoring system thanks to the absence of electronics in the borehole (only at the head of the structure). What’s more, benefit from reliable data that is not affected by the mixing of water in the piezometer thanks to measurements taken outside.

“SYMCRAU worked with ImaGeau to equip a sentinel monitoring piezometer with the SMD system. The instrumentation was implemented by ImaGeau teams in October 2019, and the data can be accessed in real time using the EMI platform. By regularly displaying the data and setting alert thresholds, we can obtain precise information on the state of salinisation of the aquifer in all its dimensions. The ultimate aim is to adapt, if necessary, the management measures and/or operating conditions of a wellfield.
